How to Get Headhunter in Path of Exile 2

How to Get Headhunter in Path of Exile 2

To get Headhunter in Path of Exile 2, chase it through the version-0.5.2 Ritual Favour route, use an Orb of Chance on a white Heavy Belt, or buy one from another player.

The cleanest documented process starts mid-Ritual: clear the revived waves, bank Tribute, refresh the Favours page, and hope Headhunter shows up. If the Tribute price is out of reach, pay 15% of its listed Tribute to Defer it; it can return in the next Ritual at a 10% lower price.

That is a route you can execute. It is not a guarantee, and the available guides do not publish the data needed to call any route universally fastest or cheapest.

How to get Headhunter in PoE 2 right now

The supported answer has a version split. A guide scoped to PoE 2 version 0.5.2 documents Headhunter as a possible unique reward on the Ritual Favours page. The same guide documents using an Orb of Chance on a white Heavy Belt. A separate version-0.5.4 guide discusses buying the belt and gives a rough market estimate of 200 - 300 Divine Orbs.

Do not read that estimate as a fixed price. The 0.5.4 guide calls the market volatile and tells players to check the live rate before trading. The Ritual and chancing claims remain scoped to version 0.5.2. That distinction matters. We have documented routes, but we do not have published success rates, sample sizes, expected costs, or a controlled comparison between them.

Ritual is the most controllable documented chase because it gives you a repeatable Favour, reroll, and deferral process. Buying gives you a listed trade price to evaluate. Chancing gives you a valid input action. None of the cited guides proves which one costs the fewest Divines or takes the least time.

Run the version-0.5.2 Ritual Favour route step by step

  1. Run Ritual maps to start the documented chase loop.
  2. Defeat the revived monster waves to bank Tribute.
  3. Check the Favours page after completing the encounters.
  4. Refresh the Favours page to roll new offerings while using reroll-cost reduction.
  5. If you cannot buy Headhunter, pay 15% of its listed Tribute to Defer it, allowing it to reappear in the next Ritual at a 10% lower price.
  6. Use the Mysterious Rites Atlas cluster, Queen's Rituals, and Ritual Precursor Tablets placed in Towers as the farming setup named by the 0.5.2 guide.

This is why Ritual beats vague advice to just blast maps and pray. The process gives you decisions after the belt appears. It does not make the appearance guaranteed, and the guide supplies no observed appearance rate or expected number of rerolls.

If you want to compare chancing against another route, check your actual currency position rather than trusting somebody's lucky clip.

Headhunter steals Rare modifiers for 60 seconds in 0.5.4

Path of Exile 2 character wearing Headhunter with stolen rare modifiers

Headhunter is a level-50 unique Heavy Belt in the version-0.5.4 guide. When you kill a Rare monster, you gain its modifiers for 60 seconds.

PropertyDocumented value
Required level50
Increased Stun Threshold20 - 30%
Charm Slots1 - 3
Maximum Life+40 - 60
Strength+20 - 40
Dexterity+20 - 40
Rare modifier duration60 seconds

The 0.5.4 guide positions it as a mapping and clear-speed belt. That tracks with the effect: the belt pays off while you are killing Rare monsters and carrying their modifiers into the next fights. It is not evidence that Headhunter is best in slot for every character or every activity.

The attraction is the snowball. You are not buying a static damage line alone; you are buying access to whatever useful modifiers the slain Rares provide for the next minute. That is also why the belt's value depends on your build and content instead of the name alone.

Shrine Stacker can stretch Headhunter past two minutes

The patch-0.5 Shrine Stacker Pathfinder build is a narrow example of Headhunter synergy, not a template every player needs to copy. Its published setup reaches about 65% slower expiry for effects through Temporal Chains and reports Headhunter's stolen modifiers lasting roughly 2 minutes 10 seconds.

The build page makes an important mechanical distinction: modifiers gained from Rares are not counted as buffs in this setup. It therefore uses Temporal Chains to slow their expiry. The page also discusses a 75% slower-expiry cap for buffs, while its listed Temporal Chains setup reaches 65.25% for effects. Those are build-specific numbers: the four-times duration applies to buffs at the 75% cap, not to Headhunter's stolen modifiers in this setup.

There is counterplay inside the map, too. A map's Temporal Chains can overwrite the build's own curse setup. One Rare monster modifier can also remove curses applied to the character, disrupting the interaction the setup wants to preserve.

That is the sharp takeaway: Headhunter gets nastier when your build can extend stolen-modifier uptime, but the belt does not create that synergy by itself.

FAQs

Headhunter is priced at roughly 200–300 Divine Orbs in Path of Exile 2 0.5.4. The league is volatile, so the live market can move hard; check current listings before you buy.
Yes. Headhunter can be obtained as a unique reward on the Ritual Favours page, and it can also be chased through a pure-RNG Orb of Chance attempt on a white Heavy Belt. That makes it buyable in practice through the market or by targeting it through Ritual.
