How to See Exact SR in Overwatch 2

How to See Exact SR in Overwatch 2

Perhaps one of the best features Overwatch 2 has that the first one didn't is the ability for players to see their exact SR, or Skill Rating. After all, information regarding skill ratings has been sought after by many players. So much so that there used to be several third party apps and websites that players used to utilize to find out their exact skill rating.

To see your exact skill rating in Overwatch 2, you have to launch Overwatch 2 and go to the competitive play menu. From there, you should check your profile and then click the option to view your skill rating. You should be able to see your exact skill rating here.

Today, we'll be going through exactly how to see your exact skill rating in Overwatch 2 as well as why this information might prove useful to you.

Step #1: Launch Overwatch 2

Naturally, the first thing you have to do to see your exact Skill Rating in Overwatch 2 is to launch the game. Now, this can be done on any device or console, as long as it has the account you want to check the skill rating for.

Normally this wouldn't have a dedicated step to it, but because players were able to check their SR by using third party software and websites before without even launching the game, we thought it might be a good idea to clarify it.

Step #2: Go To Competitive Play Mode

In Overwatch 2, the Skill Rating is primarily associated with the Competitive Play mode. Therefore, if you want to check your exact skill rating, you'll have to:

  1. Navigate to the game's main menu
  2. Select "Play" to access the different game modes
  3. Look for the "Competitive Play" option
  4. Click on it

Step #3: Access Your Profile

Once you're in the competitive play mode screen, you should be able to access your profile to see information related to the specific account you're using at that given time. If you're unsure of how to go to your profile, then it can be done either by clicking on your player icon or the username displayed on the screen.

Knowing how to access your profile is something that will help you later down the line as well. We say this because the profile screen is able to give you various statistics and relevant information about your account that can be used to your advantage.

Step #4: View Your Skill Rating

With your profile opened in the competitive play mode, all that's left to do is to check your exact skill rating. Among all of the various statistics displayed on your profile, one of them will be labeled as ''Skill Rating''. The number next to that will be your exact skill rating at that time.

Why is Knowing Your Skill Rating Important

Overview of competitive gaming rank tiers and seasons

Now that you know how to check your exact skill rating in Overwatch 2, how about why it's even important in the first place? Your Skill Rating, which is given after completing the necessary placement matches, determines your rank based on wins, losses, and your performance in general.

Now, players have different skill ratings for different roles such as DPStank, and support, as well as for both ranked modes (open queue and role queue). However, knowing your overall skill rating will allow you to know where you stand in terms of ranking. Make use of this information to improve your gameplay, set goals, and strive for higher rankings in Overwatch 2.
