League of Legends early patch notes for version 25.20

League of Legends early patch notes for version 25.20

League of Legends is constantly evolving as a game, ensuring that champions are getting nerfed or buffed, as new content continues to be added. These updates are fairly common and come in the form of patches, with version 25.20 potentially revamping how many champions are played.

We’re here to go through the early patch notes for League of Legends version 25.20. This includes highlighting all of the buffs, nerfs, and champion adjustments, ensuring that players know what to expect when the patch comes out.

Without any further delays, here is what to know about the early patch notes for League of Legends version 25.20.

Champion buffs

This patch’s buffs are targeted at champions who are underperforming when their mastery curve is considered. Pantheon’s jungle is getting buffed because he was overnerfed in the previous patch. His Q and W deal more damage to jungle camps to speed up his clear. Anivia has a shorter cooldown on her Q, and her E deals more damage, providing her more lane control.

There are other small buffs to make up for players who haven’t fully mastered a difficult champion. Katarina and Malphite are getting more armor to make early trades less punishable. Malphite’s E will also get more base damage. Veigar’s W is getting more AP-scaling, giving him more power during the late-game phase.

Champion nerfs

The nerfs of this patch are focused on dominant junglers. Briar’s passive max stacks will be reduced to lower her sustained carry potential. Volibear’s passive AP and his E’s scaling will be weaker to prevent him from spiking purely through AP scaling. Warwick will have lower AD and AS growth to soften his long-term scaling.

Orianna’s W base is weaker but her AP ratio will increase, making her more reliant on scaling. These nerfs isolate carry ceilings and ensure that players with good spacing and execution can dominate with these champions, allowing average players to find more counterplay.

Champion adjustments

Patch 25.20 includes numerous adjustments to improve pro viability and increase build paths. Azir’s W AP ratio will shift, making him weaker earlier but stronger later, alongside changes to his W extra-target damage and recharge behavior. Also, his E will get a small damage increase to move power away from a single pro-dominant setup and make other parts of his kit more relevant. Camille has similar tweaks, with slightly lower armor growth, a shorter W cooldown at mid ranks, and higher base damage to help pro-specific timing without boosting his solo-queue strength.

Other adjustments attempt to fix one-shot profiles and damage. Fizz’s W and R will be reworked to smooth DoT behavior, change on-hit scaling, and rebalance minimum/maximum R damage, reducing all-or-nothing burst windows. Graves’ Q numbers were shifted across Q1 and Q2, and totals to punish players who make lethality one-shot routes and make room for bruiser builds. Wukong gets ratio and damage tweaks to his entire kit to bring his professional-level performance closer to other junglers while keeping him playable in normal queues.
