League of Legends reveals 2025 Season 2 theme

League of Legends ^[1] has gone through many changes since its inception all those years ago. From minor changes that affected how some champions used their abilities to major changes that affected the entire Summoner’s Rift, those who played the game when it came out likely wouldn’t be able to recognize how it is today.

However, changing the game is how Riot Games ensures that League of Legends remains fresh and relevant. The newest change will be in the form of League of Legends 2025 Season 2, which will be themed after yet another in-game region in Runeterra. 

Here’s what region the game will be based after and when you can expect to play it.

What will League of Legends 2025 Season 2 be based on?

As announced during the League of Legends Here, Tomorrow live stream, the upcoming League of Legends 2025 Season 2 will be themed around the in-game skin line of Spirit Blossom. Those who have been playing the game for a while will know about the Spirit Blossom skin line that so many different champions have skins based on.

The trailer showcases multiple champions, including Ashe, Xin Zhao, and Shen, alongside the release date of the upcoming act. Fans can expect the Spirit Blossom Beyond trailer to come out in April 30, 2025. That's also when the Noxus-themed battle pass will end.

What’s the stand out skin for League of Legends 2025 Season 2?

Naturally, the upcoming League of Legends will have various skins for some of the most popular champions. However, the one most players are excited for has to be Prestige Spirit Blossom Lux, which is slated to be part of the new season’s battle pass.

What was League of Legends 2025 Season 1 based on?

League of Legends kicked off 2025 with a bold new direction: a Noxus-themed Season 1. This marked the start of Riot's revamped seasonal structure, with three themed seasons per year, each lasting around 16 weeks. 

The Noxus theme brought a fresh visual identity to Summoner’s Rift, transforming it into a war-torn battlefield adorned with Noxian architecture and aesthetics. New gameplay features included the introduction of Atakhan, the Bringer of Ruin, a powerful jungle monster that spawns at the 20-minute mark, offering permanent buffs and terrain changes to the team that defeats it.

In addition to gameplay and narrative updates, the Noxus theme was extended to in-game events and cosmetics. Players could participate in the "Masque of the Black Rose" event, earning Noxian-themed skins and rewards. The Arena mode returned as the "Reckoning Pits of Noxus," offering a fresh take on the popular game mode with a Noxian twist.
