There are many things that players of online games do that some other players of those same games might consider to be controversial. May it be boosting, exploiting bugs and glitches, or the topic of today, smurfing. However, the fairness of smurfing isn't as black and white as you might think.
Regular smurfing in Overwatch 2 is not bannable at all, since it isn't a breach of any term of service. However, if the smurf account uses cheats or boosters to bump the account rank higher, then it might be in danger of being banned. Unless, of course, the player hires a booster from Eloking.
We'll be going through everything you need to know about smurfing in Overwatch 2, including what it is, why you might do it, and the fairness of it.
What is Smurfing in Overwatch 2
Now, that intention can range from wanting your main account to be at a higher rank so playing competitive games without trying too hard with a smurf account to wanting to be paired up with players of a lower skill level. Some players even create smurf accounts so they can have a better K/D in that smurf account since they'll basically be playing against beginner level players despite actually being at a much higher rank than them.
However, because of the fact that high level players are ranked up with players of a lower skill level than them, many players consider smurfing to be a form of cheating. They argue that it makes the game unfair for others, especially since the smurf accounts are able to reach really high ranks by playing against lower leveled players.
Is Smurfing Bannable
However, there are a couple of things you need to keep in mind first. For example, naturally, if you use cheats with your smurf then not only will that smurf account be banned, but there's a chance that your main account might be banned as well, despite not having any direct involvement with cheating.
Similarly, if you decide, to boost your smurf account (which means to have a higher leveled player play on your account to get your account's rank higher) then you'll also be at risk of getting both your accounts banned. Well, there is a way to avoid this.
If you want to boost either your smurf account or your primary account without having to worry about either of them getting banned, then the best thing you can do is hire the booster from Eloking. This is because we're the only boosting service company that takes every single possible measure to ensure no harm comes to your account.

What to Do if You Get Banned in Overwatch 2
So, you made a smurf and hired a booster from a different boosting service company, or perhaps you tried your hand at using cheats and your smurf, or worse your main account got banned. Well, fortunately, there's still a chance for you to get your account back.
First, go to the official Blizzard support contact page.
In the game selection option, ensure the game selected is Overwatch 2 and not some other Blizzard game.
Below, you'll find the text 'I would rather categorize the issue'. Click on it and you'll be given several options to choose from.
Click the 'account' option first, which will open up even more options for you to choose from.
Look for 'appeal account action' and click on it.
Click on 'appeal penalty', and then finally click on 'continue' to be taken to the log in page.
Now, log in to the same Overwatch 2 account that was banned. This means that if your smurf account was banned, log in with that account and not your main account.
With everything done, now's the most important part. You'll be asked to write your ban appeal which will decide whether you'll get unbanned or not.
Once you're done writing your ban appeal, click 'continue' and a ticket will be sent to Blizzard support.
Tips For Being Unbanned
As mentioned above, the ban appeal message you type up is what determines whether or not your account gets unbanned. However, there are a couple of tips that might help you shift the odds in your favor.
For starters, don't lie to them. Instead, show them that you're truly apologetic and won't do what you did again. This is because the customer support agents have access to the logs and info regarding your account's banning. If you were banned for smurfing, then tell them that you simply created an alternate account, something that is confirmed to be completely fine according to Blizzard support, and as such the ban on your account is completely unjustified.
If you were banned because you were boosting, then you can argue that the person playing with your account was a booster but you. However, at the end of the day, the result of your ban appeal depends on the exact offense you committed, as well as how your word your appeal.
