What is a Fast 9 in TFT?

The phrase, fast 9, refers to when a team composition tries to get as many 5-cost units as possible in the game, then level them up to 9. This strategy guarantees a win in mid to lower-ranked games due to 5-cost units' striking and defensive power.

This technique was called the Jeff Bezos comp or the Bill Gates comp because players needed enormous amounts of gold to pull it off successfully. It was hard at the start because players didn't know how to play TFT properly, but as the game grew older, fans got better and understood the title more.

How to Fast 9 in TFT

Now that we've understood what we need to collect lots of gold to execute Fast 9. Let's look at how we can do it efficiently without any issues.

We need to understand that you can get lots of money through win streaking or loss streaking, so the early stages of a match are important if you want to select which way you need to go. Depending on what your shops look like and how you're performing, you'll select the correct streak that applies to you. Also, try to pick a money-related Augment early on.

The most money is earned by having a 5-win or 5-loss streak. If you go for the loss streak, you'll have lower amounts of HP by the time you execute the strategy, but it's also easier. On the other hand, a winning streak will give you a higher chance to succeed, but pulling five wins in a row can be tough and even one loss will ruin the streak. 

At 3-2, you'll be able to pick up another Augment. If you've got HP to spare, pick a combat Augment. Otherwise, go for the economy one. After that, save your HP while collecting as much money as possible. If you've got the option to level up to 7 with leftover gold, go for it.

By 4-1 or 4-2, your Little Legends should ideally be around level 8. By now, the next Augment you need to choose is combat because leveling up to 9 is inevitable, so try to save as much HP as you can.

Finally, once at 5-1, level up to 9 and then roll the 5-cost units. The only thing left to do by now is to steamroll the enemy team and strengthen your board. If you do it successfully, your board should be upgraded, and you need to win the lobby.

Some tips for getting to Fast 9

An important thing to remember is that this strategy isn't foolproof, and whenever you feel like you'll lose all of your HP before reaching level 9,  just let it go. Fast 9 is a very high-risk high-reward strategy where you can come back even if you have 1HP left, but that risk sometimes just isn't worth it, so make the right call and pull out if you don't see this going anywhere.

Remember, as the name implies, be fast! Try to level up as quickly as possible so you stabilize, or you might lose badly.
