Valorant has a bunch of sidearms players can choose from. However, the fact of the matter is that not all of them are really all that good. Well, two sidearms that are considered to be the best ones in the game are Frenzy and Ghost, but have you ever wondered which one is better? Well, we have.
Now, the Frenzy is an automatic sidearm, while the Ghost is a semi-automatic one, which already establishes a pretty major difference. The Frenzy's rapid-fire capability and affordable price make it an excellent choice for early rounds when credits are low, while the Ghost is much more accurate and therefore might be a better option for long-range gun fights.
Naturally, we'll be going through both sidearms one at a time and then comparing them to help you determine the best sidearm for you.
The Frenzy
First up is the Frenzy, a compact, automatic sidearm that falls under the "Full Auto" category. Its defining feature is its rapid-fire capability, which allows players to unleash a torrent of bullets upon their enemies. While it may lack precision, the Frenzy makes up for it with its high rate of fire and the potential to overwhelm opponents at close to medium range.
High Fire Rate and Burst Potential
The defining feature of the Frenzy is its blistering fire rate. As a fully automatic sidearm, it can unleash a storm of bullets in a short amount of time. This makes it particularly lethal in close-range engagements, where a quick burst of bullets can incapacitate an enemy before they have a chance to react.
In the hands of a skilled player, the Frenzy can become a fearsome tool for aggressive plays. Its ability to spray bullets rapidly can be advantageous when pushing into tight spaces, like narrow corridors or bomb sites, where enemies might be clustered together. A well-timed push with the Frenzy can overwhelm opponents, providing a crucial advantage to the attacking team.
Excellent at Close Range
When it comes to close-range encounters, the Frenzy shines. It's an excellent weapon for ambushing opponents, catching them off guard, and securing quick eliminations. In situations where you need to defend a bomb site or hold a tight angle, the Frenzy can be a valuable asset. It's perfect for peeking around corners and dealing significant damage in a short amount of time.
Not Too Expensive
Priced at 400 credits, the Frenzy is one of the more affordable sidearms, allowing players to invest their resources in abilities, armor, or even save for future rounds. This economic advantage can give players an edge when it comes to buying full rifles or expensive utility in later rounds.
In eco or force buy rounds, where players have limited funds and have to be thrifty, the Frenzy can be a go to weapon to maximize their impact on the battlefield without breaking the bank.
Too Much Recoil?
Despite its formidable strengths, the Frenzy does come with a couple of notable weaknesses. Its high fire rate results in significant recoil, making it challenging to control during sustained fire. This can cause bullets to spray wide and miss targets, especially during medium to long-range engagements.
In contrast to the Ghost, the Frenzy lacks the same level of accuracy, making it less reliable for tapping or precision shooting. Players must be mindful of this limitation and use the Frenzy's strengths effectively by capitalizing on close-range duels and avoiding prolonged engagements at a distance.
The Ghost
Up next is the Ghost, which is a compact, automatic sidearm that falls under the "Full Auto" category. Its defining feature is its rapid fire capability, which allows players to unleash a torrent of bullets upon their enemies. While it may lack precision, the Frenzy makes up for it with its high rate of fire and the potential to overwhelm opponents at close to medium range.
Accurate and Deadly
The Ghost's magazine carries 15 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and its semi-automatic firing mechanism requires players to manually pull the trigger for each shot. With that being said, the Ghost's most outstanding attribute is its accuracy.
It is renowned for its precise shooting, especially when players take their time to line up shots or fire in controlled bursts. This accuracy grants players the ability to engage enemies at medium to long ranges effectively. Whether you are holding an angle or peeking around corners, the Ghost can be a reliable tool for securing critical kills.
A Weapon of Choice for Pistol Rounds
The Ghost is the perfect sidearm you want by your side when you're going through pistol rounds. Pistol rounds are crucial in Valorant, as they can set the tone for the rest of the match. The Ghost is often the favored choice during these early rounds due to its cost effectiveness and reliable performance. It strikes a balance between affordability and potency, making it a wise investment for players who want to save credits for future rounds or abilities.
Versatility in Spades
The Ghost's versatility is another reason for its popularity. It complements different playstyles and can be a suitable sidearm for all agents. Whether you are a duelist who thrives on entry fragging, a sentinel holding down sites, or a controller supporting your team, the Ghost can be an excellent backup when you need to switch to your sidearm.
High Reward Higher Risk
With all of this being said, using the Ghost effectively demands a certain level of skill and finesse. Unlike automatic sidearms, where spray and pray can sometimes yield results, the Ghost necessitates deliberate aiming and trigger discipline. Mastering the art of tapping or bursting can turn the Ghost into a potent tool capable of outshining more expensive weapons in the hands of a skilled player.
Also, although the Ghost offers precision and reliability, missing shots can be punishing due to its semi-automatic nature. Players must be careful not to waste shots or panic under pressure, as a missed opportunity might leave them vulnerable to enemy counterattacks.

Which One is Better?
Now that we've gone through both weapons and included both the pros and cons, which one is better? Well, as we've done before when we compared Ares and Odin as well as Bucky and Judge, it's really hard to come to one specific answer. The reason for this is that both weapons shine in different situations so it really depends on several factors.
For example, if you prefer aggressive close-range engagements, the Frenzy might suit you best. Its rapid-fire capability and affordable price make it an excellent choice for early rounds when credits are limited.
However, be cautious about its recoil and limited accuracy at longer distances. On the other hand, if you value precision and accuracy, the Ghost might be your weapon of choice. It rewards players with good aim and can be a potent tool for long range duels. Its slightly higher price is balanced by its reliability and versatility.
Carefully go through the pros and cons of both weapons and compare them to your playstyle before being a decision.
