Valorant: Mystbloom and Primordial wallhacks explained

Valorant: Mystbloom and Primordial wallhacks explained

Valorant is a competitive FPS game with millions of players around the world. Therefore, it’s crucial for Riot to ensure that the game is as fair as possible for everyone. However, when certain skins allow players to peek through walls and other inanimate objects then you know the studio messed up.

Here, we’re about to go through the recent wallhack fiasco regarding players being able to look at enemies through walls and other objects. This discussion will include how players were abusing this glitch and how Riot Games responded to claims that some skin-lines gave players unfair powers.

So, here’s the tea on Valorant’s wallhack drama. If you’re tired of coming against players who abuse glitches and bugs then playing with some high-level players could do you some good. After all, as soon as you have a professional booster from Eloking boost you to the rank you deserve, you’ll realize that good players don’t need exploits. Exploits and types of wallhacks in Valorant

One important thing to clarify is that wallhacks are implemented by modifying the game or using external software, while exploits revolve around using loopholes or bugs in the game itself. Of course, exploits are not intentional on the developer's part, but that doesn't mean they’re any less dangerous than hacks.

More often than not, an exploit can have the same level or game-changing effect as a full-on hack, and in some cases, an exploit can prove to be even worse for the meta, as a much larger portion of the player base can access it.

Talking about the recent wallhack exploit, let's first understand wallhacks in Valorant. Firstly, we’ve got our entry-level silhouette wallhack which allows you to see the enemy team’s character outlines through walls, as well as the complete see-through wallhack which turns walls transparent/translucent.

Apart from these main ones, we also have more advanced hacks like ESPs, which allow you to not only peep the enemy, but also get juicy info on their health, armor, and ability recharge. They’re the most overpowered kind of wallhacks, and you might as well leave the game if you encounter someone using an ESP.

Mystbloom and Primordial bundle wallhack

Upon the release of the Mystbloom bundle alongside Episode 8 act 3, players were quick to notice an exploit. Let's explain how it works. The bug works when you have the weapon skins equipped from the bundle in a match. While standing next to a wall, simply inspect your weapon, and you'll be able to see the enemy silhouette through the wall.

Admittedly, this one was pretty easy to miss at first, but once players discovered the exploit, it was game over. All players had to do was camp next to a wall during fights, and as soon as the enemy made its way out of cover, they’d kill them. It quite literally works like a secret spy cam that lets you peek through walls without getting shot.

For the entire couple of days that this exploit was live, it completely shook the game’s entire meta. Players started using the Mystbloom bundle just to get the sneaky advantage. Yeah, lots of players griped about this, and honestly, it's no wonder – who wants to go up against someone who can spot you from a mile away? What’s further concerning is that it has now been confirmed that other bundles like Primordium, Magepunk, and Imperium were also affected by this bug.

How has Riot responded to the wallhack skins?

Overall, it's a pretty messy situation. An exploit like this could completely throw off the balance of the game and ruin the experience for thousands of players. In an urgent hotfix, Riot has removed some functionalities of these bundles, but we’ve yet to see a permanent solution.

Riot claims that all of the issues have been fixed and players are able to play with the formerly removed skins to their heart’s content. However, with the sheer number of assets in Valorant, who knows of other bugs and potential exploits that got through Valorant’s playtesting team just waiting to be discovered by adventurous players?

FAQs

Are the removed skins back?

Yup! As mentioned before, Riot deployed a hotfix and for the duration of the fix, the skins were unavailable to be used in the game. However, the fix has been deployed and players can play with their favorite skins without any issues.

How did such a big exploit make it into the game?

The thing about a game like Valorant is that minor bugs and glitches always make it through the play testing team. After all, it’s borderline impossible for a small team of employees to be able to test out every angle and every positioning to ensure every single thing they release doesn't have a minor issue.
