The BLAST Open Spring 2025 Grand Final delivered one of the most intense Counter-Strike 2 showdowns to date. Team Vitality and MOUZ faced off in a best-of-five battle, with both teams pushing each other to the limit.
Vitality started with a historic 13-0 win, but MOUZ fought back, winning two consecutive maps to take the lead. However, Vitality’s resilience shone through as they mounted a comeback to close out the series 3-2, securing their third consecutive title.
Here’s what to know about the BLAST Open Spring 2025 grand final, including how it went and what the prize distribution is.
A strong start
Team Vitality strongly opened the BLAST Open Spring 2025 Grand Final, demolishing MOUZ 13-0 on their map pick Inferno. This dominance makes it the first flawless victory in a CS2 Grand Final, showcasing Vitality’s comfort in the map because it extended their Inferno win streak to 10 games.
MOUZ counters
MOUZ’s devastating first loss didn’t mean the team would back down, where they answered with two hard-earned victories on Mirage with a score of 13-11 and Dust 2 with a score of 13-11. Sphinx starred on Mirage, dropping 26 kills against his former team, while MOUZ’s entire roster stepped up on Dust 2 to take the series lead. Their resilience turned it into an exciting battle where they put Vitality on the brink of defeat.
Vitality’s comeback
Facing elimination, Vitality delivered an essential 13-7 performance on Nuke, a map where MOUZ had been nearly unstoppable. ZywOo made plays with a 1.80 HLTV rating, forcing a decisive fifth map on Train, a relatively unexplored map for both teams.
The deciding match
The final map was a back-and-forth affair, with Vitality securing a close 7-5 halftime lead. MOUZ won the pistol round, but a force-buy from Vitality changed the game’s state. Team Vitality ended the series 13-7 to secure their third consecutive trophy.
Team Vitality’s supremacy
Although MOUZ pushed Vitality to the limit, the latter’s victories were almost always dominant compared to MOUZ’s close wins. With incredible firepower, clutch performances, and leadership from apEX, Vitality cements itself as the best CS2 team out there.
