League of Legends came out in 2009, which means it’s older than a good chunk of the playerbase, even. With it being around for so long, it’s only natural that multiple notable figures have rose to fame thanks to it.
Maciej "Shushei" Ratuszniak was the World Champion all the way back in Season 1. However, he sadly passed away on April 29. To honor him, players will be able to get the Shushei Forever title in League of Legends.

The Shushei Forever title will be available to get for free in League of Legends starting May 14, 2025. It’s unknown what the mission will be, but it’ll likely honor Shushei’s legacy in some way. The mission will likely be easy to complete and require the use of a champion like Gragas.
Alternatively, it wouldn’t be surprising if Riot Games decided to go highlight some of the more unconventional champion builds Shushei popularized. AP Alistar, for example, was one of the most popular ones, so dealing magic damage as Alistar may be a good mission objective.

Who was Shushei in League of Legends?
Maciej "Shushei" Ratuszniak was a leading figure in the early days of competitive League of Legends. Born on March 16, 1989, in Poland, Shushei rose to prominence as a mid laner for Fnatic. He led the team to victory in the inaugural League of Legends World Championship in 2011.
His exceptional performance earned him the tournament's first-ever MVP award. Notably, he chose Gragas as the champion to receive a commemorative skin, resulting in the creation of the Fnatic Gragas skin, which remains a tribute to his legacy. Thanks to this, a lot of early LoL players still associate Gragas with Shushei, despite it being years since he last competed on the big stage.
Throughout his career, Shushei was known for his innovative playstyle, popularizing unconventional strategies such as AP Alistar and Gragas mid lane. After his tenure with Fnatic, he played for several teams, including DragonBorns, before retiring from professional play in 2013. Shushei passed away on April 28, 2025, at the age of 36, after battling cancer. His contributions to the esports community have left an indelible mark, and he is remembered as one of the game's earliest and most influential champions.
