What's the Highest MMR in Dota 2

What's the Highest MMR in Dota 2

Dota 2 is a MOBA that has been around for quite some time now. While it never managed to get the amount of popularity as League of Legends, it still has a dedicated fanbase that loves its more technical nature. Therefore, it's only expected that some players must have pushed the MMR wall by winning match after match.

When Dota 2 was first released, there was actually an MMR cap of 5000 MMR. However, as more players reached that threshold, the cap was increased to 10,000. Eventually, some players broke through the 11,000 MMR barrier in 2020, and that's we're at right now where 23savage managed to reach the 12,000+ MMR threshold on the 2nd of March 2021.

We'll be going through information regarding the highest MMR in Dota 2 right here.

History of the MMR Cap in Dota 2

Before we talk about the current circumstances of the Dota 2 leaderboards, let us take a trip down the history of Dota 2. When Dota 2 was initially released, the matchmaking system had a maximum MMR cap of 5,000.

However, as players continuously improved and climbed the ranks, the MMR ceiling was raised to 10,000. In 2017, the Dota 2 community witnessed an extraordinary accomplishment when the first player, Abed "Abed" Azel L. Yusop from the Philippines, surpassed the 10,000 MMR milestone. Abed's achievement not only established him as a legend within the Dota 2 community but also inspired countless players to push their limits.

However, it was in 2020 that history was rewritten once again when two players managed to break the 11,000 MMR barrier. The first player to achieve this feat was Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon from Thailand. Known for his exceptional carry performances, 23savage demonstrated unrivaled skill, leading him to climb to the summit of the Dota 2 MMR ladder.

The accomplishment of reaching such astronomical MMR ratings is not merely a personal triumph for the players involved but also a testament to the dedication and discipline required to excel in Dota 2. These extraordinary feats have a profound impact on the game's ecosystem. If you feel like you have what it takes to break a record for yourself, then here's how to calculate MMR in Dota 2.

Now, MMR in Dota 2 works a little differently. While the information of who's sitting at the top of the leaderboards is common knowledge, one thing people don't know is just how much MMR those said players have. Therefore, it's difficult to track down the exact highest MMR in Dota 2.

If we're talking historically, then the player who holds the current highest MMR accomplishment for being the first to cross the 12k MMR threshold. This is because he managed to reach the 12,000+ MMR threshold on the 2nd of March 2021.

If you want to be more specific, however, then every region in Dota 2 has its own leaderboard that you can go through to find out which player sits at the top. You can play in the Americas, Europe, South East Asia, and China, and every server has a different level in terms of skills, player quantity, and more.

The leaderboard is ever changing as players are climbing or dropping in ranking. However, at the time of writing this, the top players for every server are:

In Dota 2, the highest rank is known as "Immortal." The Immortal rank consists of several sub ranks, each denoted by a numerical value. These sub ranks are further divided into divisions, numbered from I to V. Players in the Immortal rank are considered to be among the most skilled and experienced in the game.

The exact number of players who can achieve the Immortal rank varies based on the distribution of MMR within the player base. Only a small percentage of players manage to reach this prestigious rank, representing the pinnacle of Dota 2's competitive ladder.
