Clash
Overwatch 2 Season 12 will introduce a new game mode called Clash into the title. Although Clash was in the game before, it was only an arcade mode. In Season 12, Blizzard will permanently add the mode to the game alongside new maps.
As for how the game mode works, five different points in the map lettered A through E placed in a line through a mirrored map. The game starts with both teams trying to capture point C, which is the center-most objective on the map. When a team captures an objective, the team gains one point to the total score, and an objective closer to the opponent spawn is activated.
Teams can win in two different ways in Clash. A team can either capture five points before the opponent team or gain control of the objective closest to the opponent team’s spawn, which can be A or E. If a team gains control of A or E, that team wins the game irrespective of how many points either side has.
The time needed to capture a point depends on how close or far it is from the spawns, with A and E having the shortest capture times.
Returning game modes:
For a short period, some modes will return during the Overwatch Anniversary event that will take place in Season 12. Although Blizzard hasn’t shared the exact amount and names of modes that will return, the trailer revealed that Mirrorwatch and April Fools modes will return.

What new maps are coming to Overwatch 2 in Season 12
As mentioned earlier, Blizzard will add two maps for the Clash game mode.
Hanaoka
Hanaoka is based on Hanumura, the assault map from Overwatch that got removed from official matchmaking servers after the launch of its sequel. The map was in the game in Season 10 for a bit when Clash was still just in the Arcade.
Throne of Anubis
Similar to how Hanaoka was based on an old Overwatch map, Throne of Anubis is based on the Temple of Anubis. Aside from being set in Egypt, it will reveal various lore regarding the AI that caused the Omnic Crisis.
