Best heroes for Marvel Rivals Brain Blast mode

Best heroes for Marvel Rivals Brain Blast mode

While hero shooters and other competitive online games usually have one primary mode that players play competitively, that doesn’t mean the developers can’t have a little fun. Limited-time modes are an excellent way to get old players to return to a game and have a good time, and the same happened with the Brain Blast mode in Marvel Rivals [1].

The Marvel Rivals Brain Blast mode amplifies the size of every character’s head, making it much easier to land critical hits. The best heroes to play in this mode are those who can land critical hits from a distance, including Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hela, Winter Soldier, and Star Lord.

Here’s a ranking of the best Marvel Rivals heroes for the Brain Blast mode and why they’re so good for this mode.

Black Widow

Black Widow may not be a good character in most modes, with her even being considered the worst character in the game, but she really shines in the Brain Blast mode. Because of the larger heads, players can land critical hits more easily, and Black Widow’s sniper is perfect for increasing the critical hit’s damage.

Arguably the best thing about Black Widow is that she can take down enemies from a distance. Because the big head change affects every player in the game, heroes like Spider-Man are rendered useless because they can quickly get dispatched if they try rushing enemies. However, Black Widow can just snipe from a distance to help her team push or defend, without ever putting herself in danger.

To take things to the next level, players can also use Black Widow’s team-up ability with Hawkeye. Thanks to it, Black Widow can also see afterimages of enemy heroes, letting her get better shots in, and making her critical hit advantage even more prominent.

Hawkeye

Hawkeye is in the same boat as Black Widow, since the hero doesn’t really have much potential if the player isn’t very good at aiming. Fortunately, with the Brain Blast mode, you don’t need to be exceptional at shooting. After all, the bigger the head, the bigger the critical hit target, right?

Like Black Widow, players can just shoot from a distance to stack up damage through critical hits while staying away from danger. The added benefit Hawkeye has is that he’s much more agile than Black Widow, letting him escape from danger if the circumstances call for it. The only problem is that his agility is heavily nerfed thanks to his gigantic head, so he may get caught while trying to escape.

Hela

Hela has seen much change compared to when she was one of the strongest heroes in the game back in Season 0. Her overall damage fell of significantly, and the decently high ceiling required to play her properly ensured that her pick rate plummeted. However, that doesn’t stop Hela from being one of the strongest heroes in the Marvel Rivals Brain Blast mode.

Because Hela is one of the few hitscan heroes in the game, her attacks instantly hit whatever she’s aiming at instead of having to travel like Iron Man’s attacks. Thanks to this, all players have to do is aim at the comically large heads of enemies and spam the attack button to stack up insane critical hits and make quick work of basically anyone.

Winter Soldier

The Brain Blast mode makes it so that enemies are constantly dying left, right, and center. The one hero that mostly benefits from this is Winter Soldier, since the hero continues to get his ultimate ability back every time he kills someone with it, gets an assist, or someone dies a couple of seconds after getting hit by the ultimate attack.

Not only this, but there’s also the added benefit of his basic attack being a revolver. The biggest issue with Winter Soldier that stops so many players from trying him is the fact that his gun only has three bullets until you have to reload. In a fast-paced game like Marvel Rivals, it isn’t easy to make every bullet count, at least without any special factors in play. Of course, we’re talking about the Brain Blast mode’s added head expansion.

Star Lord

Star Lord is the Tracer of Marvel Rivals, as he has some of the fastest bullets, but most of them miss because of how difficult it is to trace enemies. Well, with the Brain Blast mode, you can make every single bullet in his guns count and then some. All you have to do is look towards any enemy’s head and trace it to deal devastating critical damage.

Then there’s Star Lord’s ultimate attack. While the Ultimate attack already makes it so that players land critical shots on enemies regardless of where they look, the Brain Blast mode helps charge that ultimate faster. Thanks to this, it’s much easier to constantly attack heads to deal damage and recharge your ultimate.
