The much awaited CS2 is finally out, and players are flocking to it just like you would expect for the sequel to the biggest FPS game out there. However, Valve has made some changes to the game, and one question many players have is how the ranking system will work. Will it be the same as CS:GO, or will it be completely revamped?
The most important thing you should know is that not every CS2 competitive mode has a rank system. Instead, it has what they call ratings. Depending on how many games you win and how much ELO you gather, your rating goes up. There are several ratings in the game so far, with more expected to come out.
Embark on a journey to mastery as we unveil the nuances of CS2 ratings, showcasing how Eloking can elevate your gaming experience to unprecedented heights. Don't believe us? Use code "BoostToday" now to give our services a try with a 20% discount.
How Do CS2 Ratings Work
Before we directly put CS2 ratings against CS:GO ranks, we believe you must have a good grip on how ratings work. In CS2, the rating system is used to evaluate and classify a player's skill level within the game.
The purpose of this rating system is to provide players with a more granular assessment of their skill level and progression. As you win matches and improve your performance, your rating will increase, allowing you to track your progress and compete with players of similar skill levels. For those familiar with platforms like FACEIT, Eloking ensures a seamless transition into the CS2 rating system, promising a detailed evaluation of your skills akin to other top-tier competitive services.
Similar to other competitive games, before receiving your initial rating, you need to play and win 10 placement matches. These matches help the system assess your skill level and determine an appropriate starting rating for you, and you can use code "BoostToday" to have a professional-level player play your placement matches for you at a 20% discount.
All CS2 Ratings
Now that you know the gist and purpose of the rating system, it's time to go through the ratings themselves. Now, the rating scale in CS2 ranges from 0 to 35,000. This wide range allows for a more precise assessment of a player's skill compared to simpler ranking systems.
The ratings are divided into seven color-coded tiers, each representing a range of Elo points. These tiers are as follows:
Light Blue (5,000-9,999): A step up from Grey, showing some improvement in skill.
Blue (10,000-14,999): Intermediate tier, indicating a moderate skill level.
Purple (15,000-19,999): Above-average skill, showing proficiency in the game.
Pink (20,000-24,999): High skill level, signifying advanced gameplay.
Red (25,000-29,999): Very high skill level, demonstrating expertise in the game.
Yellow/Gold (30,000-35,000): The highest tier, indicating elite-level gameplay skills.
CS2 Ratings vs. CS:GO Ranks
Now, you might be wondering where your CS:GO rank stacks up against this new and revamped CS2 rating system. Fortunately, it's pretty straightforward. However, it should be noted that CS2 does NOT have tiers in ranks. For example, instead of there being Silver 1 and Silver 2, there's just Grey. This makes ranking players much easier.

Silver 1-Silver Elite Master
Light Blue
Gold Nova 1-Gold Nova Master

Alternatively, if you're someone who wants specific numbers instead, then, fortunately, Leetify came in clutch. Below are the approximate CSGO and CS2 rank equivalences along with the percentage of the overall player base that can be found at that level.

CS2 Ratings vs. FACEIT
With the comparison between CS2 rating and CS:GO ranks done, the only other comparison that makes sense is between CS2's rating and FACEIT's rankings. While the two have similar ranking systems, there are a couple of differences.
Perhaps the most glaring difference is how the FACEIT ELO can't even compare with the CS2 one. We aren't even talking about a small difference either. FACEIT's highest rank, level 10, requires you to have over 2000 ELO. In contrast, CS2's highest rating, yellow/gold, requires you to have over 30,000 ELO.
Additionally, FACEIT has 10 levels, while CS2 currently has only 10 levels. However, the gaps in ratings in terms of the required ELO are higher in CS2, so it should be possible to combine multiple FACEIT levels to combat the CS2 ratings. Finally, FACEIT is generally more competitive in the higher ranks when compared to CS2.
So, without further ado, here's an estimate of where you can expect to rank when comparing your FACEIT level with the currently existing CS2 ratings.

How to See CS2 Leaderboards
In CS2, leaderboards play a crucial role in allowing players to gauge their performance against their friends and the global player base. These leaderboards provide valuable information about a player's statistics and ranking in the game.
CS2's leaderboards provide a wealth of information about each player. These statistics typically include
Rating: Your current rating, which reflects your skill level in the game.
Wins: The total number of matches you've won.
Win Percentage: The ratio of wins to total matches played.
Rank Percentile: This shows what percentage of players worldwide you rank higher than. It's a useful metric to understand your relative skill level.
To be eligible for the leaderboards in CS2, players must have Prime Status. Prime Status is typically associated with players who have linked their phone numbers to their game accounts and have played enough to reach a certain level of trustworthiness within the CS2 community. Fortunately, we might be able to help you in this regard by telling you how to get Prime subscription for free.
