Every season of Marvel Rivals also brings a slew of changes to how heroes interact with each other. While team-up abilities were established when the game came out, they have to be tweaked every time new heroes are released to ensure things are fair, and one hero doesn’t have ten team-ups while another has only one.
Season 2.5 didn’t just see the release of the anticipated hero Ultron, but it also brought many changes to the team-ups. The new team-ups in Marvel Rivals include Symbiote Shenanigans, Operation: Microchip, Chilling Assault, Rocket Network, Stark Protocol, and Jeff-Nado.
Naturally, we’ll go through all of these team-ups to ensure you know which heroes to pick the next time you play. If you don’t have reliable teammates to play with, you can always play with a professional Marvel Rivals player from Eloking.
Symbiote Shenanigans
Venom joins forces with Jeff the Land Shark in one of the season’s most creative combos. In this team-up, Venom acts as the anchor and gains a bonus of 150 health. Jeff then creates a symbiote chain that links the two together. This chain not only connects them but also heals any allies caught within its tendrils. It’s a strong support-oriented team-up that encourages close positioning and smart group movement.
Operation: Microchip
This combo enhances Black Widow’s offensive capabilities with help from the Punisher. Punisher becomes the anchor and upgrades Widow’s Red Room rifle. Once the ability is activated, she can fire a powerful beam that cuts through enemies and hits multiple targets in a single shot. It’s an ideal setup for players who want to maximize Widow’s potential as a high-impact damage dealer.

Chilling Assault
Luna Snow gives Hawkeye one of her icy enhancements. With this ability, one of Hawkeye’s arrows becomes charged with ice, gaining the ability to pierce through walls and other terrain. The arrow also builds up a chance to freeze enemies, with the freezing effect growing stronger the farther it travels. This makes it perfect for skilled snipers who can line up long-range shots for maximum impact.
Rocket Network
Rocket Raccoon and Peni Parker share their tech talents in this tag team setup. When Rocket is the anchor, Peni receives an extra Bionic Spider-Nest. This second nest behaves like her original but has a smaller area of effect and spawns Spider Mines and Cyber Webs. When Peni is the anchor instead, Rocket’s Battle Rebirth Beacon gains the same kind of trap-deploying capabilities, mimicking Peni’s nest ability and adding layered defense potential.
Stark Protocol
Ultron gains a major upgrade thanks to Iron Man’s tech in this team-up. When Iron Man acts as the anchor, Ultron’s laser attack evolves to pierce through both enemies and allies. Enemies caught in the beam take damage, while allies are healed. It’s a rare combination of offense and support in a single ability, allowing Ultron to control the battlefield while keeping teammates alive.
Jeff-Nado
Jeff and Storm create one of the most visually chaotic ultimates in the game. When their ultimates are used together, Jeff swims in a giant storm vortex surrounding Storm. This swirling zone pulls in enemies, dealing continuous damage as Jeff chomps away at them. Once the storm ends, any survivors are spat out, making this an excellent crowd control option during big team fights.
FAQs
What are team-ups in Marvel Rivals, and how do they work?
Team-ups in Marvel Rivals refer to special interactions or coordinated plays between two characters that create unique combat advantages. While not always explicitly labeled in-game, many character abilities naturally complement one another, encouraging players to coordinate.
For example, a character with crowd control might pair well with a high-damage teammate, allowing for more effective takedowns. The game is designed with synergy in mind, so choosing heroes that support each other’s playstyle can make a big difference in team fights.
