That path is on the horizon, as the patch notes for Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 are out.
Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 is slated to bring Ultron to the game. Alongside that, the game will add six new team-up abilities, while also removing Iron Man’s position in the Gamma Charge ability. Ultron will also come to the game alongside a limited-time mode that will add even more fun to the game.

What are the key highlights of Marvel Rivals Season 2.5?
Ultron joins the roster as the first flying support hero, having healing drones, energy beams, and mobility. The game has six new team-up abilities, including Jeff-Nado and Stark Protocol, while four team-ups and Iron Man’s position in gamma charge are removed.
Ultron’s battle matrix protocol, a new limited-time mode, will launch on June 6, allowing players to create custom hero lineups. Balance changes target heroes like Captain America and Emma Frost, who are considered overpowered by the community, while Storm, Squirrel Girl, and others get buffs. Team-up overhauls aim to shift the meta, with reworks for Fantastic Four and Hulk/Namor combos.
Season 2.5 introduces Ultron as a playable character, new team-up abilities, a limited-time mode called Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol, and various hero balance changes.
Ultron is a flying support hero with abilities like Encephalo-Ray (energy beam), Imperative: Firewall (bonus health), Imperative: Patch (healing drone), Dynamic Flight, and Rage of Ultron (ultimate).
Season 2.5 adds Symbiote Shenanigans, Operation: Microchip, Chilling Assault, Rocket Network, Stark Protocol (Iron Man + Ultron!), and Jeff-Nado to Marvel Rivals!
Storm, Squirrel Girl, Punisher, Dr. Strange, and Magneto got buffs. Iron Fist, Human Torch, Psylocke, Groot, Captain America, and Emma Frost received nerfs.
