How to counter Moira in Overwatch 2?

Moira is one of the most annoying Support heroes to play against in Overwatch 2 due to her high mobility and ability to damage people without aiming. Her main attack latches onto opponents, and she can use her Biotic Orb ability to heal herself or deal more damage, making her one of the few Support characters that can out-damage their DPS.

Here’s how to counter Moira:

As a DPS:

Use abilities that can hinder movement: Cassidy’s Magnetic Grenade and Mei’s Endothermic Blaster are great ways to slow down Moira and deal damage.

Deal heavy damage at once: Since Moira can’t give herself burst healing, she’s not good against those who give her a lot of damage. Widowmaker's headshots or charged rails from Sojourn can force Moira to retreat or kill her if she’s being too greedy.

Play Reaper: Reaper is a perfect hero when playing against low-health characters like Moira and other Supports. He can deal damage if he gets up close and can kill Moira in just two to three shots. If Moira is dealing too much damage and there’s a lot of distance between the two, Reaper can use his Shadow Step to retreat towards his team.

As a Tank:

Play D.Va: D.Va is a great counter tank against Moira because she can deal incredible damage to the Support character and break the distance between each other whenever she uses her Fade ability. Additionally, D.Va can use Defense Matrix to despawn healing and damage orbs.

Use abilities that can stun her: Sigma and Doomfist excel at this technique. Sigma’s Accretion ability and Doomfist’s charge attacks can displace Moira, leaving her open to attacks from the entire team.

Drive away opponents: If Moira pushes a teammate who can’t fight back, like Genji, assist them to drive her away.  

As a Support:

Play Ana: Ana is great at shutting down Moiras. If Moira decides to push Ana, she can use her Sleep Dart to stop her opponent in her tracks, then use her Biotic Grenade to deal lots of damage and prevent Moira from healing. After that, a few shots can kill Moira.

Play Zenyatta: Zenyatta deals a lot of burst damage thanks to his alternate fire. Mixing that with his Discord Orb ensures a free kill against greedy Moiras. 

Play Brigitte: Brigitte is one of the few Support characters that can hold their own against others.  She can damage Moira while simultaneously healing her teammates through her Rocket Flail, negating the effects of nearby Biotic Orbs.

Brigitte can use her Whipshot ability to deal damage from afar to Moira if she's retreating. If Moira has low HP, it’s an easy kill, but if not, she gets further away, making it perfect in both cases. Brigitte’s Shield is good for blocking Moira’s Biotic Grasp and closing the distance.
