Who are the least-picked Valorant agents in 2024?

Who are the least-picked Valorant agents in 2024?

Valorant has multiple agents players can pick from. From the popular ones like Jett and Reyna to those agents players don’t really like using much like Viper, there seems to be an agent for everyone. Today, we want to take a closer look at the playable characters in Valorant who don’t get as much love as they deserve.

By that, we mean we’re here to go through the least-picked agents in Valorant for the year 2024. All of the details we got are from the official PC version of Valorant, which means the list may differ for the console version. However, every agent included here either has been nerfed this year or has gotten a substitute with better abilities.

So, without further ado, here’s the definitive list of the least-picked Valorant agents in 2024. If you play any agent on this list and want to learn how to play better substitutes then we have you covered. Just hire a professional coach from Eloking to teach you about the meta agents in the game. You can even use the code “BoostToday” to get an easy 20% discount on your order.

What are the top 10 least-picked agents in Valorant?

With so many agents and roles in Valorants, players have many options if they want to play the game. Some agents are great and suit the person’s play style, whereas others may not be as good. Out of every agent, some are picked less due to various factors like not being fun to play or having a weak kit. Here are the top 10 least-picked agents in Valorant as of 2024.

10: Brimstone

Animated builder character in blue armor raising his fist

Role: Controller

Starting off our list is Brimstone. He was a staple in the early days of Valorant, but as the game got updates and new smokers, his pick rate started to drop slowly. Although Brimstone is useful, being one of the only characters to drop three smokes simultaneously, the rest of his kit can feel lackluster, considering other agents can do the same thing but better.

9: Breach

Futuristic warrior with robotic gloves and rifle standing in a post-apocalyptic setting

Role: Initiator

Breach is another agent that’s been in the game since its launch. Although he’s a strong agent, especially in the right hands, he’s a very difficult character to learn and master. The problem is that Breach’s toolkit accidentally forces him to flash or daze teammates, which makes squads prefer another character instead of him. Even his ultimate ability can accidentally affect teammates, causing players to lose because of small mistakes.

8: Fade

Animated female character with a bold makeup and modern outfit

Role: Initiator

Despite Fade being a newer Initiator, she’s had a low pick rate since her addition. She’s picked less due to the near-useless toolkit that allows her to gather information regarding information. The problem is that her abilities aren’t reliable, and opponents can break them, so teams prefer picking someone like Sova, who is better at doing the same job.

Her other abilities, like Prowler, can be hard to control, so it’s a worse version of Skye’s Trailblazer. Although Prowler can lock onto enemies, it only works if they’re already marked by Fade, which has a low chance.

7: KAY/O

Futuristic robotic soldier wielding an energy weapon

Role: Initiator

KAY/O is considered one of the weakest characters in Valorant. He suffers the same problem as other lower-tier characters where other agents can do the same job better. For example, his flashes are slow and easy to dodge, so players use other agents like Phoenix or Skye that can blind enemies quickly. His ultimate is useful against lower-ranked lobbies where players rely on abilities too much, but in higher ranks, it’s easy to counter.

6: Yoru

Animated character with blue hair holding a gun

Role: Duelist

One of the few things setting Yoru back is his complexity. He can teleport, make fake copies of himself, and throw flashbangs to blind enemies, but controlling all of them is tough and requires mastery over his entire kit. Under a good player, he’s an unstoppable force, but for most players, it gets too overwhelming to learn, so they skip learning him altogether.

5: Deadlock

Blonde female video game character holding a rifle with a scenic landscape in the background

Role: Sentinel

Although Deadlock was introduced to Valorant years after its release, her popularity decreased quickly. This decline was because her toolkit often messes with teammates instead of opponents. For example, her walls can block off enemies while also locking squadmates to different areas, giving them unnecessary problems. Her grenade has the same effect on teammates and opponents, so a bad throw can do the opposite thing of what the player wanted to do.

4: Vyse

Futuristic robotic character in a digital environment

Role: Sentinel

Vyse is the least picked Sentinel in Valorant despite being the newest agent. The problem with Vyse is that her setup takes too much time, and opponents can counter them. If she puts down a trap wall, enemies can see the line and trick it to deploy without passing through it. There are numerous cases where Vyse’s flashes backfire, and players end up flashing themselves or their teammates instead.

3: Viper

Female anime character in a dark setting holding a mask

Role: Controller

The final three agents in this list are all Controllers. Viper has been in the game since its launch, but players have stopped playing her in favor of newer smokers like Clove. The issue with Viper is that it’s difficult for new players to learn her lineups and how to set up her signature ability since incorrect usage of either can result in the team getting a disadvantage instead of the other way around.

2: Astra

Futuristic warrior with sword teleporting through a portal in a dynamic action scene

Role: Controller

It takes too long for Astra to set up her abilities. She goes into a state where she can almost see the entire map and put stars in whatever location she wants. Astra can turn these stars into smokes, stuns, or magnets whenever possible. During her state, she becomes vulnerable, and opponents can see where she places her stars so they can preemptively set a defense against them, rendering her abilities useless.

1: Harbor

Animated male character with beard and blue outfit

Role: Controller

Ending off our list is arguably the worst agent in the game with the lowest pick rate. Harbor is a Controller whose main job is to put up walls to cut off enemy sight. He’s the hardest agent to play, but even good players struggle to make him useful because of how confusing he can make the map. His Cove ability can stop bullets from passing through a sphere but usually helps enemies instead of teammates if used incorrectly.

FAQs

Why is Harbor so hated?

The thing about Harbor is that there are two things holding him back from being a good agent. The first is that he’s very hard to play. Even some high-level players struggle to properly use their abilities since they require precise aim and timing, something that no other agent requires.

On the other hand, those who even do manage to master this agent will realize that he’s not that viable in a game like Valorant. Harbor restricts the sights and bullets of enemy and ally agents alike. Thanks to this, using someone like Vyse who only targets enemy agents makes much more sense to ensure there’s no room for error.

Who is the best Controller in Valorant?

Most would agree that Clove is currently the best agent in Valorant. The biggest reason for this is that not only can players use their smokes while being dead but Clove’s smokes also regenerate overtime, allowing the team more flexibility with them.
