Valorant: Top 10 most picked agents in 2024

Valorant: Top 10 most picked agents in 2024

Valorant has an impressive selection of agents players can choose from. From the mysterious assassin Omen to the electrifyingly quick Neon, there’s an agent for everyone. However, some agents are easily more popular than others, whether that be thanks to the usefulness of their abilities or because players just relate to them more.

As 2024 is quickly coming to an end, we thought we’d take a look at the ten most picked agents this year. We used the PC version of the game to determine the pick rate of every agent to narrow down the ten most picked ones, which means the list may differ for the game’s console version thanks to the change in controls and some mechanics.

So, without further delay, here are the ten most picked agents in Valorant for the year 2024. If you want to learn how to play any agent we mention on the list, you can always hire a professional Valorant coach from Eloking to give you a hand. What are the top 10 most picked agents in Valorant?

Valorant has over 25 agents, split between four roles with separate tasks. These agents have different abilities that make them unique. For example, some agents are better at blocking off areas than others, while others are great at attacking an area. Some agents are picked more than others because they have better kits. Here are the top 10 most-picked agents in Valorant as of 2024.

10: Chamber

Role: Sentinel

Starting our top 10 is Chamber. Even though the French agent’s gotten nerfed numerous times since his release, players still pick this agent in competitive modes. Since Chamber’s release in patch 3.10, he has become incredibly popular among Valorant players for his kit, which allows him to place traps and teleport to a safe place nearby.

His ultimate is essentially a free Operator, and it slows down the area around whoever got killed by it, so it’s a great tool to slow any aggressive enemies.

9: Raze

Role: Duelist

The second agent we have is Raze. She is one of the most popular agents in the game thanks to her ability to deal with immense damage and her great mobility. Her grenades are excellent for forcing enemies out of small spots, and her Boom Bot can keep enemies occupied or clear corners.

Raze’s ultimate is excellent, which can one-hit kill multiple opponents if they’re together. Despite being in the game since launch, she’s still one of the most viable playable characters.

8: Gekko

Role: Initiator

Gekko is one of the easiest agents in Valorant. He’s an Initiator that everyone picks, even those who do not know how to play the role, because of the simplicity of his abilities. Gekko’s flash automatically flashes any opponent caught in the vicinity, even if they do not look at it, making it a great tool to clear areas.

Wingman can automatically plant or defuse spikes as long as Gekko has sight of the Spike or the site. Gekko’s ultimate is great since it allows players to incapacitate opponents for a little while from a distance.

7: Sova

Role: Initiator

At number seven, we have another initiator. Sova has been in Valorant since the game’s launch and has consistently been one of the highest-picked agents. Although his abilities are simple, they are practical. His Recon Bolt can pinpoint enemies in an area, and his Shock Bolt can fish out opponents from corners.

His Owl Drone can scan enemies and show their locations to the rest of the team. No agent comes close to Sova when gathering intelligence, making him one of the popular characters in Valorant.

6: Omen

Role: Controller

Omen is the first smoker on our list. He has been in Valorant since its launch and has been a great pick despite being old. Alongside smoking off areas, Omen has movement abilities that let him teleport nearby to catch opponents off-guard or to go to hard-to-reach places.

His ultimate allows him to teleport anywhere on the map and pick up things like the Spike, making it one of the most useful ultimates in the game.

5: Sage

Role: Sentinel

Sage is inevitable in popularity lists due to her usefulness. The Chinese defender, Sage, is a support agent whose signature ability is healing teammates to full HP, and it recharges as the round progresses.

She can also revive fallen squadmates using her ultimate. Thanks to abilities like these, she’s almost always the default character to pick when a team needs a support agent.

4: Cypher

Role: Sentinel

Cypher is an important support character who excels in some maps. Like Sova, he can gather lots of information for the team. What makes Cypher great is that he places traps, turning areas into fortresses.

Cypher can put cameras on walls to keep tabs on places and mark enemies. He’s one of the toughest agents to learn and master, so having a high pick rate despite that is remarkable.

3: Jett

Role: Duelist

Jett is arguably the most iconic character in Valorant. Esports players and players with a fast playstyle, love using Jett thanks to her immense speed and mobility. She can dash and use her Updraft ability to attack or retreat and throw smokes to confuse opponents.

Her ultimate allows her to shoot precise knives, even in the air, making her one of the most lethal agents to play against in the right hands.

2: Clove

Role: Controller

Despite being one of the newest agents in Valorant, Clove is a popular pick among the community. Firstly, they can smoke off areas, so they fill up an important spot in a team composition. They can heal themself whenever they get an assist or a kill, similar to Reyna, and can throw a small grenade that weakens enemies caught in it.

Finally, their ultimate gives them a second life when they die, so people playing as Clove can play as aggressively as they want.

1: Reyna

Role: Duelist

Ending off our list is Reyna, the most picked agent in Valorant. She’s popular not only because of her incredible offensive capabilities but her design, catching the attention of the gaming community outside of Valorant. There are numerous fan videos and clips of the agent, and others associate the game with this agent.

Although she’s been nerfed multiple times, her core kit has stayed the same, rewarding aggressive players with health and brief invulnerability.

FAQs?

Why do so many players play Reyna?

Reyna is easily the most popular Duelist in Valorant. Now, there are multiple reasons for this, but the most important one is that she’s extremely self-sustaining. All of Reyna’s abilities are tailored to ensure she survives longer, whether that be through healing or by becoming invulnerable for a while. Thanks to this, even those who are solo-queueing can play well without having to rely on their teammates at all.

Is it hard to learn how to play Cypher?

Not really. The good thing about Cypher is that, similar to Killjoy, the most important thing is to learn where to set his traps. After that, it’s just a matter of waiting for the enemy to walk into your traps.

However, two things differentiate a good Cypher from a bad one. The first is how well the Cypher communicates. Cypher’s specialty is information-gathering, which means he’s most likely to identify the location of enemies. Quickly and efficiently giving callouts to teammates can help quickly win rounds.

The second thing is how quickly the Cypher can react. Cypher’s traps give players sound and visual queues, but they aren’t permanent. It’s crucial for the Cypher to quickly react to any queue to either take down the enemy caught in the trap or give a good callout to the nearest teammate to ensure they can get the job done.
