A new Valorant agent is on the way, and the first hints have been dropped in the Abyss map trailer. The trailer shows this mysterious hourglass shape that's got everyone riled up. Fast forward to the Episode 9 Act 1 cinematic, things only got more intriguing, as we saw this agent frozen inside the hourglass-shaped structure. This set the stage for a big reveal. 

Apart from that, there were a bunch of leaked player cards and cinematic scenes that showed off the agent’s vibe. Picture this: a mix of purple, pink, and silver, with a lot of focus on hourglasses, roses, and thorny vines. Based on this theme, the agent seems to be all about time and nature, and it's pretty exciting to wonder what this could mean for their abilities.

Agent’s Role and Abilities

The new agent is said to be an initiator, meaning they’re going to help the team kick off fights and claim space. When it comes to abilities, we can take a safe guess thanks to the hourglass, thorn, rose, and metal motifs. It's likely their abilities will revolve around time manipulation, like stopping, speeding up, or slowing it down.

Talking about abilities, the second ability could be Thorn Trap, which could be used to control choke points. The third ability could be Rose Bloom, which could serve as a way to spot enemies through walls. The Ultimate ability could revolve around the hourglass theme, like slowing enemies down during fights. All of these could help the team pull off some seriously aggressive plays.

Reveal, Release Timeline, and Speculations

We’ll get the full reveal on August 25, right after the Valorant Champions 2024 Seoul Grand Finals, sometime in the afternoon KST. it's sure to be a hype moment as Riot loves to drop the big reveals after the major matches. The details of when we’ll see this agent in action are unknown at the moment, but if we look at their past releases, there's a good chance we won't have to wait too long, at most a couple of days. 

Given all the hourglass and thorny vine imagery, there is a good chance the agent is linked to the Abyss map. After all, Riot likes to pair maps with new agents, like when they paired Harbor with Lotus or Gekko with Sunset. There might also be a lore tie-in with Jett, as in the Episode 9 Act 1 trailer, we saw Jett’s kunai right next to those creeping thorns, implying the two might have some deeper story. We’ll have to wait and see, but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on.
