Valorant [1] continues to add new agents to its roster of playable characters to ensure things remain fresh and relevant for players. From Vyse taking Sentinels to a new level to Tejo and his extremely impactful abilities that can track down enemies, players have had no recent shortage in finding new agents to play as.
Now, the next agent to come to the game is a duelist named Waylay. Valorant’s next agent, Waylay, is set to arrive on March 5, 2025, and she might shake up the meta with her lightning-fast movement and unique abilities. As a duelist from Thailand, Waylay introduces Hindering, a new status effect that slows enemies in multiple ways. She also has an upward dash that could rival Jett’s, making her a serious threat for aggressive players.
Here’s everything to know about Waylay, including her abilities and when exactly she’ll come to the game.
Who Is Waylay in Valorant?
Waylay is Valorant’s newest duelist, harnessing the power of light to take over fights. She wears a tactical suit in yellow, navy blue, and black, with a striking holographic rainbow color scheme. Her playstyle focuses on speed, space-taking, and quick engagements.
Riot Games officially revealed Waylay during the Valorant Masters Bangkok 2025 Grand Final on March 2, 2025. Her agent description reads:
"Thailand's prismatic radiant Waylay transforms into light itself as she darts across the battlefield, striking down her targets through shards of light before flitting back to safety, all in the blink of an eye."
Waylay’s abilities in Valorant
Now that you know the lore of Waylay, it’s time to dive deep into her abilities.
Refract
Drops a beacon of light on the floor.
Reactivating the ability teleports Waylay back to the beacon as a mote of light, making her invulnerable while traveling.
Light Speed
Grants a burst of speed.
Primary fire: Dash forward twice.
Alt fire: Dash once (only the first dash can go upward).
Saturate
Throws a cluster of light that explodes on impact.
Applies Hindering, slowing enemies’ movement and weapon handling.
Convergent Paths
Creates an afterimage that projects a beam of light.
After a short delay, Waylay gains a speed boost.
The beam expands, applying Hindering to anyone caught in it.
Hindering – A New Valorant Debuff
Waylay introduces a new status effect called Hindering, which slows multiple actions, including:
