Overwatch 2 Mid-Season 10 date and changes

While the new season of every game brings about major changes, some games like Overwatch 2 also make changes when the season reaches its middle point. Hence, it’s called the mid-season update. With Season 10 of Overwatch 2 in full swing, fans have some information about what the season’s mid-season update will bring to the game.

Today, we’re here to go through everything revealed about Overwatch 2’s mid-season update. This includes what’s changing in the mid-season update as well as when players can expect to see the update drop in their games.

So, without further ado, here is the Overwatch 2 mid-season 10 update date and the changes it’ll bring. If you want to stay on top of all the updates, we recommend you play with high-level players. With Eloking, you can even use the code “BoostToday” for an epic 20% discount.

What’s changing in the Overwatch 2 Mid-Season 10 update?

As with all updates, the Mid-Season 10 update changes the balancing of many characters in Overwatch 2. The upcoming update will focus more on tanks and make them stronger. In the official blog, the Overwatch 2 director shares that players have been complaining about tanks for quite a while, so he’s trying to change that role to appease them.

Tanks will get many buffs to make them like team leaders instead of high-health DPS. Specifically, tanks will get 25% less damage from headshots, so they don’t die immediately to random bursts of fire and have a higher knockback resistance, so characters like Lucio won’t be able to push them as far so tanks can hold their place.

Also, tanks now have a higher self-heal passive, so they should be able to recover health at a faster pace.

All of these changes are being made so that tanks in the game can hold the frontlines better and do their job. Aside from just Tank changes, the director also mentioned some character-specific changes such as:

Junker Queen

Futuristic female warrior aiming with a mechanical arm

Junker Queen’s Commanding Shout ability is getting a buff, which lets her use it even while using her other rampage or carnage-related abilities. Additionally, her Commanding Shout will have a smaller cooldown time so players can use it more.

Wrecking Ball

Cartoon cat astronaut on a space adventure

Wrecking Ball is getting changes to his Grappling Claw. The damage he does with his full-charged swing will increase to 60, and his Piledriver will slow down enemies more than it did before. His ultimate is also changing, where now his mines will do more damage and have higher knockback.

Miscellaneous

Junkrat, Echo, and Hanzo are also getting small buffs, but the director hasn’t shared what exactly will be changing.

A global change is that they’re reducing the Armor damage back to lowering five damage per projectile with up to a max of 50%, which means characters like Reaper or Tracer will have more work to do to take down heroes like Reinhardt.
