It’s crucial for competitive FPS players to have a way to reliably watch their played games to learn and improve. Alternatively, some players watch replays to see how they were outplayed or to confirm the enemy player wasn’t cheating. However, Valorant [1] has infamously never had a replay system.
Fortunately, that’s slated to change soon. Players already have an idea of when they can expect the replay feature to launch in Valorant, as well as how the update will be rolled out. Unlike what most may assume, the replay feature won’t come to PC and consoles at the same time, and it won’t be present for every gamemode.
So, without any more delay, here’s what to know about when replays will come to Valorant.
Valorant is getting the replay feature in September
In a Valorant developer diary released on May 30, 2025 [2], Valorant will get the replay feature on September through patch 11.06. The replay feature was teased before through a similar dev diary, though not much information was given about when players could expect the feature to come out.
It’s important to keep in mind that while the feature will come to Valorant’s PC version in September, console players will have to wait a while. While replays will still come to consoles this year, the addition will be in late 2025.
Replays are crucial in a competitive FPS game like Valorant for authenticity and clarity, so it’s nice to see Riot Games making an effort to implement the feature. When looking at the teaser for the feature, players can see that the replay feature won’t be a bare-bones addition as many expected. Instead, the feature will have options like forwarding, reversing, and even clipping. Naturally, players will get the choice to watch replays in other perspectives too to ensure things are good.

Competitive mode will get it first
As the dev diary revealed, Valorant’s competitive mode will get the replay feature before any other game mode, as that’s where players usually require it. Other game modes will eventually get the replay feature, though it’s unknown when that’ll be.
The good news is that the replay feature gives players a free moving observer camera. This lets players check things that are out of any player’s vision, opening up a whole new potential of replayability and observation. This will be especially useful for lineups.
