However, Riot Games has revealed that the regional prices for every game are changing due to economic changes. Are regional prices changing for every Riot Games title?
Yes, the value of virtual currencies in various Riot Games titles such as League of Legends and Valorant is increasing in multiple regions. On September 4, Riot announced in a new post that they are adjusting the prices of currencies due to global economic changes and shifts in exchange rates and local economies.
Another reason behind the price change is that they don’t want the prices to be too different between regions. When prices vary too much, people exploit these differences by using VPNs and server transfers to purchase currency at a lower cost in one area and sell it for profit in another.
Riot will implement these changes starting on September 18, after which the prices for in-game currencies will change. Before Riot alters prices, they’re giving players bonus currency in regions where it's getting costlier. For example, a Valorant bundle with 2050 VP will provide an extra 300 bonus VP. Also, Riot is standardizing some bundles, so some of them, like the 1380 RP bundle in League of Legends, will be available in every region.
The timing for these bonuses is different for Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.
In Taiwan, the Double Bonus Promo will be available from September 19, 9 AM PST, to October 3, 9 AM PST, after which the prices will change.
In the Korean region, players will see an additional 10% promo from September 4, 9 AM PST to September 22, 8 AM PST.
Riot will reveal the date and time for the price changes and promos in the Japan region later.
