How to join a Premier team in Valorant

How to join a Premier team in Valorant

Valorant is known for its competitiveness, which is something most FPS games tend to neglect in favor of ensuring the game is more accessible for everyone. Every player wants to climb the ranks to prove their worth, though just the ranked mode alone usually isn’t enough to determine how good a team is.

Those who want to take things a step further can utilize the game’s Premier mode. This in-game tournament mode gives players a chance to team up with their friends as teammates to compete in scheduled matches that are structured like genuine professional tournaments. Thanks to the recent changes, more players than ever can join and compete in Premier.

So, if you want to ensure you compete in Valorant’s [1] Premier mode for glory, keep reading because we’ll guide you on how to do it. Of course, if you’re looking for a highly skilled teammate, look no further than Eloking and its Valorant teammate service.

What is Premier Mode in Valorant?

Premier is Valorant’s in-game tournament mode, where you and your friends can team up and compete in scheduled matches that are a bit more structured than regular ranked. Each Stage runs as long as an Act, during which your team plays weekly matches to earn points. Do well enough, and you can qualify for the playoffs by the end of the Stage.

With Premier, you can get a taste of competitive Valorant without leaving the game or joining outside leagues. Everything from your wins to team history gets tracked, and you even get a cool Premier Crest for your progress. Your team setup and zone pick also carry over between Stages, but your score resets each time.

Your division can shift based on how your team performs or if you have made roster changes. It is a great way to stay motivated if you prefer something more organized than solo queuing.

What are the requirements to join a Premier team in Valorant?

There are some requirements you need to meet before diving into Premier. Firstly, your Riot account must be linked to a phone number and verified throughout the Stage to prevent smurfing. You will see the Create a Team option once verified, and you can also check your status in the settings. Unlinking your number will require you to re-verify, and switching to a different one comes with a six-month cooldown, so make it count.

Secondly, you need to have finished at least one ranked placement match at any time since creating your account to let Riot determine your MMR (Matchmaking Rating). Your account should not have any bans, chat restrictions, or AFK penalties (even accidental ones can cause disqualification). Any such penalties will result in being locked out of Premier for that Stage.

Lastly, there is Contender Eligibility if you want to join a Contender or Invite-level team. You qualify if you played in a Contender or Invite match during the current or last Stage, reached Immortal 3 or higher in ranked, or competed in Elite 5 playoffs. Also, if a team has already played their first match, you can't join them if your MMR would knock them into a different division, so plan the rosters carefully.

How do I join a Premier team in Valorant?

There are two primary ways for players to join a Premier team in Valorant. While the first is to join an existing team that has an empty slot, the second is by creating your own team and inviting others to it.

Join an existing team

The process for joining a Premier team is easy. Firstly, ensure your account is eligible as stated above. Once sorted, just have the team owner or captain send you an invite. Remember that you can only be in one Premier team at a time.

You are allowed to join a team partway through the Stage, but joining late limits the matches you will get to play. Missing too many early ones results in a low Premier Score and can hurt your chances. You can leave a team whenever you want (except while in queue), and doing so will not take away any rewards you earned.

Create a new team

You can also create your own Premier team as the owner with some extra duties. You will pick the name and tag (once only, so choose wisely), invite up to six other players, and set your logo and colors. Your division will be based on the MMR of the top five players on your roster. Once your team plays the first match, your division and server zone get locked, so make sure your full lineup is set before queuing.

As the owner, you can also assign a captain to help manage invites and removals. You are also responsible for scheduling match times, ensuring people queue on time, and handling any bumps along the way. Think ahead and avoid any roster changes to avoid MMR conflicts from re-adding members. Being a team owner is about leading your squad from start to finish.

FAQs

How many players can a Premier team have, and how do I join one?

Premier teams consist of 5-7 players, but only the top five MMR scores determine your division placement. You can either create your own team or join an existing one by receiving an invitation from a current member. After the first match, you can only add new players if they don’t affect your team’s division.

What are the eligibility requirements to join a Premier team?

To join or create a Premier team, you must have SMS‑verified your Riot account, completed at least one ranked placement, and have no recent bans or restrictions in the past 30 days. Your account must remain in good standing throughout the stage to stay eligible.
