The League of Legends[1] competitive scene is constantly expanding, with new teams constantly joining the fray. However, most teams are unfortunately fated to not make it in the mainstream eye, whether because the team’s members don’t have the required skills or personalities to attract a player base. Fortunately for Los Ratones, that isn’t the case for them.
Los Ratones is a new League of Legends team that took the LoL scene by storm. Created in late 2024, the team is entirely UK-based and has a handful of extremely strong members while also have a strong social media presence. We’re here to go through everything you need to know about the team, including its inception, why it’s so popular, and some known accolades of the team.
Without any further ado, here is what you need to know about the League of Legends team Los Ratones.
Los Ratones: Caedrel’s new LoL team shaking up the scene
Los Ratones is a UK-based professional League of Legends team. It was created on November 15, 2024, by former LEC player and caster Marc “Caedrel” Lamont. The team brought together some of the most well-known names in the League of Legends scene, including the veteran Nemesis, popular creator Thebausffs, and former world champion Rekkles.
On June 1, 2024, during a Twitch stream, Caedrel brought up forming a new competitive team alongside Nemesis and Thebausffs as a fun discussion. Fast forward a few months, and it became a reality. This is not Caedrel’s first major project within the League scene, as earlier in June 2024, he collaborated with Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere to announce The League Awards.
A big thing setting Los Ratones apart is their approach to scrims. They livestream tons of their practice sessions, match previews, and feedback sessions, giving fans an interesting behind-the-scenes look at their growth. Though not every scrim was made public due to other teams’ preferences, it still drew in thousands of viewers and made the team entertaining to watch.
Dominance in European LoL and their competitive rise
Los Ratones might be a fresh name, but they have proven they can go toe-to-toe with anyone. The team debuted in November 2024 at the NNO Cup Season 2, and despite being a brand-new squad, they played like seasoned champions.
They cruised through the winner’s bracket with a 12-2 record and swept every best-of-five series. Even with Caedrel stepping in as a substitute support due to Rekkles’ unavailability, they did not miss and showed synergy from the get-go.
Their first big stage moment came a few weeks later in Paris at the Red Bull League of Its Own event. They had a showdown against the behemoths T1, the reigning 2024 World Champions, featuring Faker himself. Against all odds, Los Ratones pulled off a huge upset win, putting themselves on the map as serious contenders.
Heading into 2025, Los Ratones set their eyes on the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) and completely dominated the competition. They crushed the Winter Split group stage with a flawless 4-0 record, proving their superiority early on.
Their momentum carried into the playoffs, where they tore through the upper bracket with a 10-1 game record, losing only to NORD Esports. The win landed them a spot at the EMEA Masters, a chance to prove themselves against Europe’s best.

Winning the EMEA Masters Winter 2025
After proving themselves in the NLC, Los Ratones faced their toughest challenge yet: the EMEA Masters Winter 2025. They entered with big expectations and did not disappoint. They silenced doubts with a dominant 3-0 win over Ici Japon Corp. Esports, proving themselves as more than a streamer team. Despite some early setbacks, including a loss to Karmine Corp Blue, they made an impressive lower-bracket run, showing their adaptability.
The finals were a masterclass in teamwork and clutch plays. Crownie’s triple kill in Game 1 set the tone, a well-timed Baron steal in Game 2 swung the momentum, and a late-game comeback in Game 3 sealed the deal. This win silenced critics who doubted whether a roster built from ranked stars, ex-pros, and streamers would succeed at the highest level.
What makes Los Ratones so special?
While many teams succeed by sticking to a standard strategy, Los Ratones thrives on breaking the formula. Their playstyle is fast, aggressive, and unpredictable, forcing opponents into mistakes rather than waiting for them to happen. When it works, they completely overwhelm their opponents.
Thebausffs’ unconventional top lane: Initially known for his “inting Sion” strategy, the top-laner's playstyle is anything but reckless. He sacrifices himself smartly, creating pressure that forces teams to make tough decisions.
Nemesis’ mid-lane control: A seasoned veteran with a sharp macro game, Nemesis brings stability to the team. His preference for scaling mages means Los Ratones always have a win condition, even in rough early games.
Velja’s jungle impact: The team's jungler creates crucial plays in the early game. His aggressive pathing and gank-heavy style set the pace for their matches, letting them snowball leads early.
Rekkles’ adaptability: While known as a more passive, late-game ADC, he’s adjusted his style to fit the team’s faster pace, proving himself more than a hyper-carry specialist.
Crownie’s consistent bot lane presence: Crownie’s safe positioning and high DPS make him a key late-game threat, and his synergy with Rekkles lets them be flexible with aggressive or scaling playstyles.
Their success is supported by numbers that prove their dominance. So far, in 2025, they have an incredible 92% win rate across matches. At their peak, they achieved an 8-game winning streak, with their only losing streak being a single game in March. With a peak viewership of 612,001, Los Ratones are commanding an audience, making them one of the most-watched teams of 2025.
