Players were waiting for Deadpool to finally join the Marvel Rivals roster for years, and that moment is finally here with Season 6. The Merc with a Mouth is the most unique hero in the game, since players can play him in any role to tweak his abilities, making him a jack of all trades.

Before you jump into the game and try this hero for yourself, it’s crucial for you to first learn about the hero’s abilities. This includes knowing what changes when he switches from a vanguard to a duelist or strategist, as well as keeping in mind what his playing style is.

Duelist Deadpool's abilities

As a Duelist, Deadpool is built for aggressive play. His kit revolves around quick weapon swaps, fast dashes, and chaining abilities together. With pistols, he can pressure enemies from range, double jump to stay mobile, and mess with opponents using taunts that reduce incoming damage. 

Switching to swords turns him into a close-range powerhouse, similar to someone like Blade or Psylocke. His dash ability can be refreshed by landing hits, letting skilled players chain multiple slashes in a row.

Passives

• Heals Deadpool while out of combat
• Triggers brief invincibility and healing when taking heavy damage

Pistols

• Fires pistols to deal ranged damage

Vanguard Deadpool's abilities

In the Vanguard role, Deadpool trades some mobility for survivability. The biggest change is his unicorn plushie shield, which can block heavy damage and enemy ultimates, making him a super reliable tank. 

While his dash charges and movement options are more limited, he gains bonus health, attack speed, and a stronger frontline presence. His taunts now increase his combat power instead of reducing damage taken

Strategist Deadpool's abilities

The Strategist version turns Deadpool into a chaotic support hero. Most of his damage abilities now also heal allies. He can shoot teammates with his pistols to restore health, heal allies by jumping on them, and create healing zones when landing sword attacks. His dashes and slashes still deal damage, but they also keep his team alive during fights, which means that his core playing style remains similar to other roles.
