Does Riot Care About Boosting?

Does Riot Care About Boosting?

There are so many people out there who want to boost their accounts but don't. The reason for them wanting to boost their account might range from not having enough time to wanting to reach a specific rank to play with friends. However, everyone's reason for not boosting is always the same; they're worried about whether or not Riot will ban their Valorant or League of Legends account.

Now, does Riot care about boosting? Well, yes they do. This is further proven by how many different precautions they have implemented to ensure no one boosts their account. Naturally, anyone caught boosting their account is almost always instantly banned from the game. With that being said, Riot actually focuses more on having a booster play with your account than the actual boosting process.

We're here to go in depth regarding Riot's history with boosting to help you get a better understanding of its safety.

Riot Games' Official Stance on Boosting

Over the years, Riot Games has taken a clear stance against ELO boosting and has implemented several measures to combat this issue. Their Terms of Service explicitly prohibit the use of any third-party services that grant unfair advantages or tamper with the game experience, including ELO boosting. Players found engaging in boosting activities risk severe penalties, such as account suspension or permanent bans.

In addition to the Terms of Service, Riot has implemented various detection systems to identify and penalize players involved in ELO boosting. The company continuously monitors player behavior and account activity, utilizing machine learning algorithms to spot suspicious patterns indicative of boosting.

This proactive approach demonstrates Riot's commitment to maintaining the competitive integrity of League of Legends and preserving a fair and enjoyable environment for all players. With all of this being said, as we have noticed many times, Riot is more concerned with players giving their account details to other, more skilled players, than they are with the ranks suddenly increasing.

Because of this, as long as the booster you hire is good enough, it's possible to get away without Riot suspecting a thing. Actions like using a VPN, playing at the skill expected from a player of the rank the account is at, and not being toxic in game chat are examples of things that can stop Riot from identifying an account that is being boosted. Surprise, surprise, Eloking already does all of these and more!

What Has Riot Done to Prevent Boosting?

To tackle the issue of ELO boosting effectively, Riot Games understands the importance of community involvement. They actively encourage players to report any suspected cases of boosting they encounter in the game.

Reports play a crucial role in Riot's detection efforts, enabling them to identify and take action against those violating the Terms of Service. Riot also maintains an open line of communication with players, addressing concerns and feedback regarding boosting and other forms of cheating through regular updates and communication.

Beyond enforcement and detection, Riot Games recognizes the significance of educating players about the consequences and risks associated with ELO boosting.

Understanding Elo Boosting

Before anything, it's crucial that you understand what exactly Elo boosting is. Well, if you ask a random person what it is, they'll most likely say something along the lines of  "ELO boosting involves engaging a skilled player, often referred to as a  "booster," to play on someone else's account to elevate their rank." However, it goes further than just this.

You see, some boosting services, such as Eloking, also offer players the choice of having a booster play WITH them instead of AS them. Don't get what we mean? Well, the typical act of boosting involves the client giving their account credentials to the booster to have the booster boost that account.

However, if you select the  "play with duo" option when in the Eloking checkout screen, you'll find that you won't be asked to give your credentials. This is because, instead of the booster posing as you, they'll be playing WITH you instead. This'll make it seem like you just so happened to have a super skilled and talented friend on your team.

What Can You Do to Avoid Being Banned

With all of this being said and done, you might be wondering what you can do to ensure you don't get banned by Riot, right? Well, luckily for you guys, we already have two articles detailing how to make boosting as safe as possible. The first talks about if League of Legends boosting is safe while the second talks about if Valorant boosting is safe.

The gist of it all, however, is to always ensure you use a trusted boosting service when going for a boost. Don't try to cheap out and go for an unknown booster, as that might be dangerous for your account. After all, what good is a banned account regardless of how high the rank is?
