When is Ultron coming to Marvel Rivals? Leaked

Marvel Rivals ^[1] continues to dominate the hero shooter genre as it releases new playable characters with unique twists. The last character to join the playable character roster was Emma Frost, who brought with her Marvel Rivals’ second season, which was themed after the Hellfire Gala.

The Season 2 announcement trailer also revealed that the primary antagonist of that season was Ultron, suggesting he would join the player roster too. That has now been confirmed, and the character’s official release date has also been leaked, alongside his role.

So, without further ado, here’s when Ultron will come to Marvel Rivals and what his role will be.

When will Ultron come to Marvel Rivals?

Ultron will come to Marvel Rivals on May 31, 2025. This information comes from one of the most well-known Marvel Rivals dataminers on X, @RivalsAssembled ^[2]. Considering that there was a one and a half month delay between Season 1’s release date and when Human Torch and The Thing joined Marvel Rivals’ roster, May 31 would make sense as the release date.

It’s also important to keep in mind that, according to the Marvel Rivals Season 2 battle pass, the current half will end on May 30, which means the second half will be released on May 31. In conclusion, Ultron will come to Marvel Rivals alongside Season 2.5, though it’s a bit of a downgrade compared to last season, when two pairs of characters were added to the roster.

What role will Ultron play in Marvel Rivals?

According to the same dataminer, Ultron will be a Strategist in Marvel Rivals. Most assumed the character would be a Duelist thanks to his damage-dealing capabilities, or even a Vanguard, since he can use his multiple bodies as shields, but it seems the developer wants to take a different route.

A leaked screenshot shows Ultron in the Marvel Rivals character selection wheel next to Invisible Woman and below Adam Warlock. According to his leaked abilities, Ultron will be able to command multiple drones to heal allies. He can fly like Iron Man, and his ultimate has his drones fire rays that damage enemies and heal allies, depending on who gets hit. However, these abilities are prone to change in the actual game.

As for team-ups, it wouldn’t be surprising if Ultron had a team-up with Iron Man. After all, the Marvel Rivals comics show Iron Man apparently repairing a damaged Ultron, which suggests he may have fixed the evil entity’s mind to ensure he fights for Stark’s cause. This would also likely make for some unique dialogues, especially with other geniuses from the Marvel universe, like Mister Fantastic and Namor.
