Overwatch 2 has come a long way from back when everyone on the internet was collectively bashing the game for being a reskinned Overwatch 1. With gameplay revamps and a bunch of new heroes and maps, the game has made an identity for itself while attracting a sizeable fanbase.
The additions aren’t over, as Blizzard has unveiled the newest hero to join the Overwatch 2 roster. In addition to giving a highlight of who this new hero is, we’ll also be giving information like when the hero will be playable and some basic details about how the hero’s abilities work to ensure players are ready to play as her as soon as she comes out.
So, without further ado, here’s everything you need to know about the new Overwatch 2 hero Juno.
Who is Juno?
Juno is a support character coming to Overwatch 2 who is from space. Their entire attire is reflective of a space suit, and so are their voice lines. The character was teased throughout 2023 and finally got a reveal trailer on July 18, 2024. Blizzard hasn’t shared a lot of lore regarding Juno, but we believe they will show more about who she is as time goes on.
Juno is wearing a space suit with an orange and blue color scheme in the trailer. They have brown eyes with red outlines and purple colored hair with pink stripes. While this is the default color scheme for the character, Blizzard hasn’t shown any alternate skins for Juno yet.
When will Juno be playable in Overwatch?
Players can play Juno in an upcoming limited-time playtest that begins on July 19, 2024, and ends on July 21, 2024, similar to what happened with Mauga and the last hero to come out, Venture. Juno will only be playable in quick matches during the limited-time playtest.
As for when the character is launching, they will be available when Overwatch’s 12th Season starts, which will begin on August 20, 2024. The game will get a new update around 11:00 am PT.

What weapons and abilities does Juno have?
Juno has various firearms and abilities in the reveal trailer. Their primary weapon is the Mediblaster, a burst-fire weapon that can damage opponents and heal enemies with the same bullets, similar to Ana’s sniper. The Mediblaster looks like a hitscan weapon judging from the trailer.
The new support character’s secondary fire is Pulsar torpedoes, rockets that lock onto enemies to damage them and allies to heal them. Players may need to hold their secondary fire so the missiles can lock on successfully.
Moving onto their abilities, all of them are mobility-based. Their first ability is Glide Boost. As the name suggests, the ability lets them glide mid-air with an increased movement speed. This ability mixes well with their passive skill, Martian Overboots. Martian Overboots allows them to double jump and hover mid-air, like a mix between Genji and Mercy.
Juno’s second ability is Hyper Ring, where they set down a ring that boosts anyone moving through it. It’s unclear if the boost only increases movement speed or if it also increases damage and healing output.
The final ability left to discuss is Juno’s ultimate. The mobility hero’s ultimate ability is Orbital Ray, which brings down a beam of light from the sky that heals and boosts the damage output of their allies. Interestingly, Orbital Ray doesn’t damage opponents in any capacity, so it is strictly a support ability.
