League of Legends is easily one of the most popular games of all time, and a large part of that is because of how many limited-time events and game modes the game introduces. From Arena to URF, it’s as if every season brings a new mode for players to enjoy, which always gets players excited.
The newest limited-time mode is here to celebrate April Fool’s Day[1]. Instead of being just part of a separate mode, however, these changes have graced the basic draft mode of League of Legends. From cool Shaco boxes to minions somehow talking and dunking on players when they miss the last hit on the cannon, it’s only natural that players will want to learn more about all the changes the update brought.
So, without further ado, here’s everything to know about the limited-time April Fool’s changes in League of Legends.
Pengu Garen: Free for All!
For the duration of the event, players can select Pengu Garen, a fun-loving, party-themed version of Garen, in all game modes. There’s no need to unlock or purchase anything—just pick him and enjoy the show!
Pengu Garen will only be around for two weeks, so don’t miss your chance to spin and win in style.
Party Drake Buffs & Bonuses
The Party Drake is bringing the groove to Summoner’s Rift, replacing one of the standard dragons with a music-fueled alternative.
Party Drake Soul: Gain 30% bonus movement speed when near allies.
Scaling Bonus: For every 5% bonus movement speed, you get 1% extra AD and AP.
Dragon Slayer Buff:
Receive a Party Favor item (a random gold bonus between 150 and 250, plus a skill point). Players also gain a disco aura that makes nearby ally minions sparkle
Disco Pads & Party Vibes
Disco pads will appear in bases and the jungle, giving players a movement speed buff.
A duckie disco ball spawns in the base. Clicking it grants additional movement speed stacks.
The first three days of the event will see Party Drake spawn more frequently, so get your dancing shoes ready!

Shaco's Mayhem (Summoner’s Rift & ARAM)
Shaco is here to cause trouble, and he’s dropping Cat Shaco Boxes across the lanes in Summoner’s Rift and ARAM.
What Do These Boxes Do?
Picking up a box grants a random cute effect (expect surprises!).
Every 10 stacks will reward you with a Minor Party Favor item.
Speeding Up ARAM
If ARAM wasn’t fast-paced enough, this event cranks things up to the max:
Summoner Haste increased to 200%, meaning abilities and summoner spells are ready faster.
Cappa Juice's price was reduced to 300 Gold, and there was no stack limit.
Snowball ability looks a little different, but you’ll have to play to find out how!
